Continuing at NOVA after High School Graduation

When you graduate from high school, you will be able to enroll as a curricular student and continue working towards your degree or certificate at NOVA. Please note, NOVA degrees and certificates at the Medical Education Campus and the Veterinary Technology Program have a second application process for curricular placement.

Since you are already a NOVA student, you will not reapply. Your NOVA ID and myNOVA credentials will remain the same.

High School related holds, WA9 dual enrollment hold and/or WAG homeschool hold, which prevented you from self-enrolling in college classes prior to high school graduation, are removed on your anticipated graduation date. As you prepare to graduate, you are eligible to register for the upcoming academic semester. If your hold was not removed at the time of your high school graduation, please complete Form 125-104DE or send your completed high school transcript to email it to DualEnrollment@nvcc.edu.

myNOVA Tutorials will allow you to access many of NOVA’s resources including your VCCS email and access to your academic record.

Access Your myNOVA Account: To access your myNOVA account, head to the NOVA homepage and select "myNOVA" at the top of the page. You do not have to reapply.

Set Up RapidIdentity: RapidIdentity is a secure multi-factor authentication (MFA) app that is required to log in to your myNOVA account.

Remove Additional Account Holds- Check to see if you have additional holds on your myNOVA account. Reach out to EnrollmentServices@nvcc.edu with any questions.

Depending on your NOVA course work completed in High School, you may need to complete the Direct Survey for Enrollment in math and English courses.

This survey identifies your readiness for college English and Math courses. NOVA offers a self-informed placement test to help determine which courses will be best for you.

Choose Your Program of Study: You can view the pathways at NOVA here. Reach out to virtual advising or campus advising for assistance with this process. Additional resource guides to direct you in choosing your program can be accessed through Career Services.

ADV 100: These virtual advising sessions guide you through your course selections, important resources, and help you understand the academic requirements for your Program of Study.

Review your academic record to note which academic requirements have been satisfied. Review Credit for Prior Learning to see if you could earn credit with AP or IB exam scores.

Review tips for self-enrolling in SIS. Refer to the curriculum in the college catalog to identify requirements for the program of study you are pursuing at NOVA.

Paying for college may seem like an overwhelming task but it doesn’t have to be. Learn more about applying for Financial Aid and be sure to track your progress with the Financial Aid Support Center.

If you are interested in applying for services or accessing your profile to view approved accommodations and auxiliary services please visit the Accommodations and Accessibility Services website.

You will be able to use the NOVA library system. This includes each of the campus libraries and the online resources associated with the library system.

It is your responsibility to send your official NOVA transcript as you prepare to transfer. You can check your grades and unofficial transcript to make sure the final grade is posted and review how it will look.

You will have access to free tutoring services for your NOVA classes on each campus. Please see the tutoring website for hours and policies for each campus.

You can take part in many of the programs, clubs and activities that Student Life provides.
