What is CCRV?

CCRV Overview

The College and Career Ready Virginia (CCRV) Program is a statewide initiative designed to expand access to dual enrollment for high school students. CCRV ensures that qualified juniors and seniors from our local school divisions can complete either the Passport Program or the Uniform Certificate of General Studies (UCGS) — both widely transferable across Virginia’s public universities — at no tuition cost to students.

By removing financial barriers, CCRV creates opportunities for students to earn college credits early, build momentum toward a degree and save on the cost of higher education.

At NOVA

At NOVA, CCRV will allow eligible Dual Enrollment students to complete a prescribed pathway of courses either taught by credentialed high school instructors or, when needed, provided virtually by NOVA. NOVA’s CCRV Pathway ensures students have access to the courses necessary to complete the Passport or the UCGS prior to graduation.

Program Eligibility

To participate in NOVA’s CCRV Pathway, students must:

  • Be a current NOVA dual enrollment (DE) student.
    • New to NOVA’s DE Program? Complete the NOVA application to become a dual enrollment student and receive your NOVA student ID (EMPLID) before registering for CCRV courses.
  • Be a junior or senior attending one of the following:
    • Alexandria City Public Schools
    • Arlington Public Schools
    • Fairfax County Public Schools
    • Falls Church City Public Schools
    • Loudoun County Public Schools
    • Manassas City Public Schools
    • Manassas Park City Schools
    • Prince William County Public Schools

High School Pathways

Each participating school division has high school-specific pathway sheets to help students and families understand which CCRV courses are available to them and align with their academic and career goals.

How to Get Started

  1. Discuss your plans. Talk to your parent/guardian and/or school counselor to confirm CCRV is a good fit (Passport or UCGS).
  2. Review your high school’s CCRV Pathway. See the available courses.
  3. Verify eligibility and placement. Meet Dual Enrollment Admission and Placement Criteria.
  4. Submit the CCRV Declaration in the Dual Enrollment Portal. The Fall 2026 declaration will open on May 1.
  5. Create your profile in the Dual Enrollment portal* to register for courses. This requires a NOVA application and for your multi-factor authentication at the college to be set up.

*This is a one-time step. A declaration form is not needed each semester you intend to complete CCRV courses.
