How to Register for a Workforce or Continuing Education Class
For those interested in short-term professional and continuing education courses outside of our credit programs, registration is continuous throughout the semester and remains open until the course maximum is reached. Please contact the NOVA Workforce office for more information.

Students may add or drop classes during the first week of instruction via myNOVA. The drop/add period varies for each term. Please refer to the academic calendar for drop/add deadlines.
Class Formats
NOVA offers a variety of class formats to accommodate your schedule.
Learn on Campus: In Person
You’ll use: CANVAS to supplement in-class learning
Where: 100% on campus When: Scheduled class period(s) How: In MyNOVA (SIS), search Mode of Instruction - In Person

Learn on Campus: In Person and Online
You’ll use: CANVAS or Zoom to supplement in-class learning
When: Scheduled class on the days and times you prefer Where: 50% on campus, 50% at home

Choose a campus location for in person meetings
Hybrid classes have a section number containing 'Y' (ex. 02YA)

Learn@Home: Live-Streamed Via Zoom

Learn@Home: Online, On Your Own Time

Fully online classes have a section number beginning with 'E' (ex. E01N)
The class note will say: "Online course offered by NOVA Online"
