Bridge Programs in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Engineering Technology are FREE summer programs for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in getting into these high-demand, high wage tech fields. Summer STEM Camps are hands-on, project-based learning camps for rising 4th graders through rising 12th graders.

Bridge Programs


NOVA IET offers free 2-week summer bridge programs to help juniors and seniors get ready for college! During these programs, students will receive an introduction to one of three in-demand technology fields (Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering Technology), tour at regional employers, and meet NOVA faculty, students and staff. Bridge students will gain critical skills and have the opportunity to receive college credit.

Information Technology Bridge Program (4 days/week):
June 21-30 | NOVA Loudoun Campus | 9am - 4pm
August 1-11 | NOVA Manassas Campus | 9am - 4pm
Engineering Technology Bridge Program (4 days/week):
June 21-30 | NOVA Manassas Campus | 9am - 4pm
Computer Science Bridge Program (4 days/week):
June 21-30 | NOVA Alexandria Campus | 9am - 4pm

Who can apply?
Graduating High School seniors/current juniors. The Bridge Program is intended for students who have little or no experience with these fields and would like to learn more. No longer accepting applications for Summer 2022.

The IT bridge program will introduce students to NOVA’s associates degrees in Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Information Technology. Students will meet industry professionals who teach at NOVA and learn about regional careers.

Between the semiconductor manufacturer Micron Technologies and Ashburn’s Data Center Alley, Northern Virginia has a growing need for technicians. During this program, students will learn about engineering technology careers in the region, with a focus on the data center industry. Students will visit Micron’s new manufacturing plant and spend several days onsite at Stack Infrastructure.

NOVA’s associates degree in CS is designed for students to transfer to a 4-year college. During this bridge program, students will explore different career pathways for computer science that require advanced degrees. Students will also learn about new and emerging fields in computer science.

STEM Camps


Led by STEM teachers and college students enrolled in STEM programs, our STEM Camp program introduces Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to thousands of grade-school students.

We’re excited to bring back in-person camps this year alongside a limited selection of virtual camp options. Camps are focused on hands-on, project-based learning that provides students with excellent opportunities to begin exploring STEM fields and to chart a course for future STEM education and workforce opportunities. Our STEM camp tracks include Coding, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Fabrication, Rocketry, Design Thinking and more!

Camps will run June through August, but registration is open starting February 2022 throughout the summer.

Summer NOVA Makers Program

Rising 9th - 12th graders can participate in NOVA Makers which takes place in the NOVA Fab Lab on the Manassas Campus. This program allows participants to utilize the machines in the Makerspace portion of the Fab Lab to create and work on personal projects. NOVA Makers provides a more self-guided learning experience throughout the summer along with instructor-led safety and machine-specific training.

Paid Summer STEM Internships

Already a STEM master? Bring your skills back to the community as a NOVA SySTEMic Intern. NOVA is recruiting high school and college students interested in STEM education for paid summer STEM internships in support of our summer STEM camps. During these two-week programs, interns will support camp instruction, contribute to curriculum development, and learn to teach technical skills in a low-stress, fun environment.
