NOVA Online Success Coaches work one-on-one with students to help them navigate the semester successfully. Coaches assist students in utilizing campus support services, developing effective study strategies, staying organized, and connecting with academic support and college resources. They also help students create study routines and improve time management skills, offering regular check-ins to ensure accountability and keep students on track. Success Coaches are available to answer questions and address concerns to promote academic success.
NOVA Online counselors offer onboarding, academic, and transfer planning to online students. They also support students by addressing issues that may interfere with their academic and personal responsibilities, and connect them to external resources for further support.
Student Lingo provides on demand workshops available 24/7 on topics such as Exam preparation, time management, procrastination, tips for success in college, testing anxiety and more. You will also find a helpful online orientation specific to NOVA Online with student testimonies, links to our supports, resources, policies, student life and other important information to help you succeed at NOVA. If you are an enrolled student and are accessing Student Lingo for the first time, you will be prompted to create a username and password. This account will provide access to the Orientation and Student Lingo Workshops.
All NOVA campuses provide virtual or in person tutoring, by appointment, during regular business hours. NOVA also offers virtual tutoring, 24/7 through Brainfuse. To access Brainfuse, log into your class and click the '24/7 tutoring' link on the left margin.
NOVA Libraries are available both online and on campus. Library staff help students find, evaluate, and use information for assignments, papers, and projects. The Libraries’ website provides access to the library catalog and library databases, as well as research guides and video tutorials.
