Step 1: Watch the Enrollment Prep Presentation

The Enrollment Prep presentation will prepare you for getting started at NOVA. Information includes:

• Direct Enrollment Survey to determine your English (ENG) and mathematics (MTH) placement
• How to access your myNOVA student account
• How to interpret degree requirements
• Student registration system and creating your first semester schedule

Step 2: Complete New2NOVA

New2NOVA is the College’s online new student orientation program that is accessible anytime from any internet-connected device. By completing New2NOVA, students will learn about:

• Academic programs and supports
• NOVA policies and procedures
• Student services and resources
• Registration videos to assist with registration and completing the enrollment process

SIGN IN TO NEW2NOVA

Step 3: Participate in an Advising 100 Session

Advising 100 Sessions are group advising sessions that provide academic advising to first-time students based on their academic program or major. These sessions will be offered starting in May and will be facilitated by NOVA advisors. In this interactive, virtual session, students will:

• Fine-tune their academic schedule based on their academic program
• Learn from and connect with NOVA advisors

First Year Experience

Established in 2021, the new First Year Experience (FYE) at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) strives to empower students to make the most of their first year as part of the NOVA community. FYE programming provides students with opportunities for exploration and personal development as they acclimate to college life. This is achieved through a coordinated series of opportunities to engage with services & resources, connect with faculty, staff and peers, enhance academic & personal readiness and engage in co-curricular and civic-minded learning opportunities.
