Melanie Jenkins

Melanie Jenkins is Director of Data Analytics at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) in Annandale, VA. Prior to joining NOVA, she recently served as the Director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness at the University of Richmond (UR) in Richmond, Virginia for seven years. Focused on developing appropriate and effective institutional reporting, evaluation, and assessment, Melanie operationally manages the Office of Institutional Effectiveness as the university's official data and information resource.

Before arriving at UR, Melanie served as Associate Provost for Institutional Research and Assessment at Suffolk University, Assistant Director in the Office of Institutional Research and Evaluation at Tufts University, Statistical Analyst in the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC). As part of her official institutional reporting and assessment responsibilities, Melanie serves as the Institutional Accreditation Liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Melanie completed her B.A in Psychology from Christopher Newport University (CNU) in Newport News, VA and earned her M.A. in Educational Studies and Urban Education from Tufts University in Medford, MA. Melanie is a USCG veteran who is passionate about encouraging institutions to give access to education. Melanie is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, pursing an Ed.D in Higher Education Management.
