Business Engagement Center

Thank you for your interest in recruiting Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) students and alumni for employment and internship opportunities. We have six campuses, specialized program centers, and an online division that are home to approximately 70,000 students pursuing over 130 different degree and certificate programs. NOVA's Business Engagement & Career Services team partners with employers to create strategic recruitment plans and engagement opportunities to help you connect with our students and your future workforce.

View the recruitment options below and contact NovaCareerServices@nvcc.edu with any questions. If you are interested in partnership opportunities beyond workforce recruitment, please visit the Business Engagement Center.

Post Opportunities in Career Connection

We invite employers to create a free account in Career Connection, NOVA's career services management system, run by Symplicity. Once your Career Connection account is approved, you can post jobs and internships that are accessible to all our students and alumni and register for recruitment events.

Before creating an account, please review our Employer Recruitment Policies. If you are recruiting for internshop positions, we also ask that you please review the criteria for an experience to be defined as an internship [naceweb.org] from the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

Guaranteed Interviews

Employers* that are hiring directly for jobs with their own organization may participate in Guaranteed Interviews with students from select programs. This opportunity gives employers direct access to a talent pipeline at NOVA for current or future openings. Through participating, employers will also provide students with valuable experience developing professional interview skills. The Guaranteed Interview Program (GIP) gives employers an opportunity to conduct initial screening interviews for current Full Time, Part Time and Internship openings with students who have successfully completed, or are on track to complete, specific applied degree and non-credit programs at the College throughout the year.

To participate, employers must complete the free registration in the Career Connection platform. Employers will commit to working with the GIP team to coordinate any virtual interview date(s) for specific job/internship openings and providing feedback and outcomes from the interviews. The GIP team works to advertise the opportunities to the students, who sign up for interview timeslots on a first-come, first-served basis. The GIP team manages student scheduling/communication, a resume packet is provided to the employer prior to the interview date, and the GIP team is available the during the interview session for any assistance needed. Thank you for your interest in the Guaranteed Interview Program!

If you are interested in interviewing students, please complete this form or contact Rachel Krempasky at rkrempasky@nvcc.edu.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeship enables employers to provide employees with a holistic talent development program through high-quality education, opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials, and on-the-job training and mentorship. The Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI) administers Virginia's Registered Apprenticeship (RA) program. Registered Apprenticeship creates earn-while-you-learn models that provide occupation-specific training. Virginia's community colleges can be providers of the required Related Technical Instruction (RTI) that supports Work-Based Learning (WBL). Community colleges provide valuable training and RTI for various employers, businesses, and sponsors. Employers who wish to start RA programs can find their local Registered Apprenticeship Consultant.
