Mason Resources & Guides

Half Way There

This resource offers NOVA students critical information for successfully transferring to Mason. You are encouraged to review the entire page for admission requirements, application deadlines, transcript information and selective major requirements. Mason enrolls transfers for both the fall and spring semesters and expects applicants to meet their application deadlines of March 1 or October 1. Official transcripts from every college and university attended both in the U.S. or any other country are required for an admission review.

The Transfer Student Advising Resources page provides information to aid prospective students in transitioning to Mason. Resources include VCCS Transfer Guides and academic planning tools.

ADVANCE is an exciting partnership between NOVA and Mason that gives NOVA students targeted, personalized support to complete their bachelor's degrees in a timely manner and save money. The ADVANCE webpage provides information about the benefits, eligibility criteria, and process for joining the program.

This database contains courses that have been evaluated to offer transfer equivalency at the University, including all courses from the Virginia Community College System. Please note that this database is dynamic; we are constantly updating course equivalency data. While this data is as accurate and current as possible, the University retains the right to revise a transfer credit evaluation at any time. This information is not to be regarded as an irrevocable contract between the student and the University.

This webpage outlines the criteria students must meet if they are interested in qualifying for the Guaranteed Admission Agreement (GAA). Additional information regarding common questions students have about the GAA is also provided.

The Mason Core-VCCS Equivalency table shows students the coursework they can take at NOVA to satisfy general education requirements at Mason. Some majors require students to take specific Mason Core coursework, so it is important to review Mason’s transfer student advising resources and speak with an advisor before finalizing your schedule.
