How to Add a Class

Follow these instructions to add a class in SIS.

  1. Use the Schedule of Classes and search for a class. Record the Class #.
  2. Log in to myNOVA and click SIS: Student Information Center.
  3. Click on My Student Information.
  4. Under Academics, click Enroll
  5. Enter your class number. The class number can found in the Schedule or the SIS Class Search.

    • Review class information: Class Title, Class Notes, Days/Times, Room, Start/End Date.
    • Click 'NEXT' to add the class to your Shopping Cart.
    • Add more classes by entering new Class Numbers.
  6. Complete your registration by clicking Proceed to Step 2 of 3.
  7. Confirm classes by clicking Finish Enrolling.
  8. View the results. 

    • Ensure you receive the success message: Enrolled.
    • Note: Success means you are now financially liable for the tuition and fees for the class.
    • If the class fails, read the message for the explanation and contact an advisor for help.


If you decide not to attend the class or participate in the class, you are responsible for dropping the class prior to the census date to ensure no financial liability.

If you fail to drop the class before the census date you will be responsible for the cost of the class.

Make a Payment

In Student Center, under Finance, click Make a Payment to pay your tuition and fees.
