Message from the Police Chief

Welcome to Northern Virginia Community College!
As Chief of Police, it is my privilege to serve the diverse and vibrant NOVA community. Our Police Department is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment where all students, faculty, staff, and visitors can thrive.
Safety is a shared responsibility, and we believe in fostering strong partnerships throughout our college community. Our department takes a proactive, community-oriented approach to policing, emphasizing visibility, accessibility, and collaboration. Whether it's through safety education programs, campus patrols, or quick emergency response, our team is here to support you.
We encourage everyone at NOVA to stay informed, remain alert, and report any concerns promptly to our police force at 703-764-5000 or 9-1-1. Your awareness and involvement are vital to maintaining a safe and respectful campus culture. Please also take a moment to sign up for NOVA Alert, our emergency notification system, LiveSafe Mobile application and explore the many safety resources available to you.
Our officers are more than just responders—they are part of the NOVA family. You’ll find us on foot, on bicycles, and in patrol cars, attending events, and engaging with the community. If you see us around, don’t hesitate to say hello or ask questions. We are here to help.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. We are honored to serve you, and we look forward to continuing our mission of safety and service at every NOVA campus.
