PHT 211 - Color Photography I (3 CR.)
Course Description
Introduces theory, materials, and processes of modern color images. Includes additive and subtractive theory, color filtration, and negative and positive printing techniques. Part I of II. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
General Course Purpose
Explores advanced theory and practice of color photography including materials and processes, color perception, and aesthetics of color. Pursue individual directions in color photography projects.
Course Prerequisites/Corequisites
PHT 102 or permission of instructor.
Course Objectives
Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:
- identify factors in color perception
- control color characteristics upon image capture with precision
- perform advanced color corrections and manage workflow skillfully
- use color to communicate effectively
- complete an individual project
