PHT 131 - Video II (3 CR.)
Course Description
Continues the basics of recording and editing video and sound for a variety of intents. Explores time-based media as an art form and means of communication. Part II of II. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
General Course Purpose
Teaches methods, tools, and aesthetics of video production in greater depth than PHT Video I. Includes preproduction planning, editing, sound design, and output, as well as concepts of time- based media.
Course Prerequisites/Corequisites
Prerequisite: PHT 130 or permission of the instructor
Course Objectives
Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:
- Plan a video production
- Choose appropriate video and audio recording techniques
- Employ creative video and audio editing techniques
- Discuss concepts and practices of time-based media
- Work as a team to produce video projects
