PHT 130 - Video I (3 CR.)
Course Description
Introduces the basics of recording and editing video and sound for a variety of intents. Explores time-based media as an art form and means of communication. Part I of II. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
General Course Purpose
An introduction to the fundamental techniques of video production through demonstrations, lectures, screenings, and hands-on use of video cameras. Introduces preproduction planning, editing, sound design, and output, as well as concepts of time-based media.

None.
Course Objectives
Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:
- Operate a video camera and microphones
- Edit video and audio
- Transcode a completed video projects with sound
- Discuss basic concepts and practices of time-based media
- Work as a team to produce basic video projects
