HRT 232 - Planting Design II (3 CR.)
Course Description
Applies landscape theory and principles of landscape drawing to the planning of large scale landscape designs for large scale projects. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
General Course Purpose
This course is designed to build upon the theories learned and skills developed in Planting Design I, applying them to large scale designs.
Course Prerequisites/Corequisites
Prerequisite: HRI 231 Planting Design I.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- Explain how landscape design on a large scale differs from that on a small scale.
- Describe different schools of thought in large scale landscape design.
- Select plants suited to specific landscape situations.
- Quickly and neatly draw landscape situations.
- Present a plan to a client.

Optional Topics
Lab sessions give the student the opportunity to practice their design drawing skills.
