ART 267 - Integrated Design Techniques (3 CR.)
Course Description
Studies the use of design and technology skills for development of visual ideas across an array of delivery platforms, such as web, print and motion. Focus on the development of holistic design ideas. Integrates techniques for the design, implementation, development and production of print, web, motion, and interactive projects. Lecture 2 hours. Studio instruction 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
General Course Purpose
Integrated Design Techniques is a course where design concepts will use technology skills for integration into current delivery methods in the communication design industry. Recommended for students interested in developing knowledge about integrating design ideas across the various delivery platforms. Course fits with the foundations and principles addressed in other courses. This course is recommended for Communication Design students.
Course Prerequisites/Corequisites
Prerequisites: ART 140, ART 141, ART 142, ART 217, ART 218, ART 263, ART 264 or divisional approval.
Course Objectives
- Upon completing the course, the student will be able to: Conceive and design projects that will be prepared for print, web, motion and interactive delivery Integrate design concepts into each area of design Produce designs using current technologies and software Research and understand how to communicate designs for different audiences and different delivery methods Prepare files for output to print, web, motion and interactive medias Plan and produce graphics and imagery depending on media output Create and design projects within the constraints of print, web, motion and interactive Consider design theories and principles depending on media output Summarize the various delivery platforms Design a campaign
