Welcome to NOVA Business Engagement & Career Services!

Thank you for your interest in recruiting Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) students and alumni for employment and internship opportunities. We have six campuses, specialized program centers, and an online division that are home to approximately 70,000 students pursuing over 130 different degree and certificate programs. NOVA's Business Engagement & Career Services team partners with employers to create strategic recruitment plans and engagement opportunities to help you connect with our students and your future workforce. View the recruitment options below and contact novacareerservices@nvcc.edu with any questions. If you are interested in partnership opportunities beyond workforce recruitment, please visit the Business Engagement Center.

Post Opportunities in Career Connection

We invite employers to create a free account in Career Connection, NOVA's career services management system, run by Symplicity. Once your Career Connection account is approved, you can post jobs and internships that are accessible to all our students and alumni and register for recruitment events. Please review our Employer Recruitment Policies before creating an account. For instructions on how to create an account, please view the Career Connection Employer User Guide.

Engage and Recruit

NOVA hosts industry-specific career fairs throughout the year. View the Events Calendar for more information and upcoming dates.
The Guaranteed Interview program allows employers to conduct initial screening interviews with students who have successfully completed specific applied degree and non-credit programs at the College. Contact NOVACareerServices@nvcc.edu for more information.
The virtual employer lobby is open multiple times throughout the year for employers to gather virtually to share opportunities and information with students across all programs and campuses. Each attending organization is assigned their own Zoom breakout room (provided by NOVA) which students can join on demand. View the Events Calendar for more information and upcoming dates.
Share your organization's hiring/recruitment events directly to NOVA's career events calendar on Career Connection, or contact our team to discuss other opportunities to connect with our students.

Resources for Employers

NOVA Workforce conducts research on economic conditions and the labor market in Northern Virginia to develop a robust talent pipeline that meets the needs of employers in the region. The research department produces downloadable dashboards, reports, and publications on industry sectors, hiring trends and other economic indicators. Custom research and labor market presentations are also available for businesses and community partners.
Last revised in January 2018, the U.S. Department of Labor issued Fact Sheet #71: Internship Programs Under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This fact sheet provides general information to help determine whether interns and students working for for-profit employers are entitled to minimum wages and overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
