Hours

In order to best meet the needs of our students to prepare for the start of the fall 2026 semester, Student Services will operate under the following hours for the month of August 2026:

August 3 - 14: (Core Operational Hours)
- Monday, 9:00am – 7:00pm
- Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday, 9:00am – 12:30pm
  - Campus Information Desks will assist walk-in visitors from 12:30pm – 5:00pm and direct them to the appropriate staff as needed.
Week of August 17 - 21: (Week before classes begin, extended hours)
- Monday – Thursday, 9:00am – 7:00pm
- Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Week of August 24 - 28: (First week of classes)
Classes Begin: Monday, August 24, 2026 (15-week and First 7-week class; reference Fall 2026 Academic Calendar)
- Monday – Thursday, 9:00am – 7:00pm
- Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Week of August 31 – September 4: (Return to Core Operational Hours)
- Monday, 9:00am – 7:00pm
- Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday, 9:00am – 12:30pm

Note: NOVA’s Career Services team offers drop-in support through the Virtual Lobby on Monday evenings from 5–7 p.m. During this time, students can receive quick assistance with career assessments, exploring majors and careers, salary trends, goal setting and job search resources.

All other Career Services support is provided by appointment only.

Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment for in-depth, one-on-one guidance (virtual or in person) outside of Virtual Lobby hours.

Career Counseling Services and Their Purposes
Career Counseling Services	Purpose(s)
Understanding Self	Identify your interests, personality, skills, and values through career assessments. Discuss career assessment results with a career counselor to identify potential careers.
Exploring Careers	Learn how to research information on academic majors, job salaries, job outlook, required skills, educational requirements, and work duties. Analyze job announcements and labor market information (LMI) to determine the best fit for your career pathway.
Decide & Plan	Understand the career decision-making process and how internal and external factors influence choices. Identify SMART goals to prepare for your chosen career path. Create action plans. Research ways to secure relevant career opportunities.
Employment Preparation	Develop a resume, create job search strategies, and gain interview tips. Learn about informational interviewing. Build networking skills to find internships and jobs.
