NOVA's Healthcare Career Fair & Professional Headshots

On behalf of NOVA's Medical Education Campus, we are pleased to invite students and alumni to Northern Virginia Community College's (NOVA) annual Healthcare Career Fair on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. EST. This in-person fair will take place at the Medical Education Campus at 6699 Springfield Center Dr., Springfield, VA 22150.

Students can register to attend through Career Connection and view a list of the participating employers and their job positions. Students are strongly encouraged to submit a resume during registration to maximize their in-person interactions with recruiters and review Career Connection's list of upcoming events for fair preparation workshops.

Professional headshots (to be used for LinkedIn, Career Connection profile, other professional purposes) will be available to NOVA students at the Healthcare Career Fair, free of charge. For your photo, please wear business attire (suits, shirt and ties, blouses, blazers, etc.). Along with getting your headshot taken, members of the Employer and Career Services Team will be available to answer your career-related questions.

Internship Fair

Get a jump on your summer internship plans at NOVA’s in-person Internship Fair! This event will be taking place on March 30th, 2022 on the Annandale Campus at the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center from 12-3pm. This is a great opportunity to connect face-to-face with employers, learn more about available internships for Summer 2022 and beyond, and hone your networking skills. Registered students will have the opportunity to view participating employers, review internship postings, and submit your resume in advance of the event. The Internship Fair is open to all students and pathways. As a bonus, students who register will be able to get a free professional head shot by our NOVA staff photographer to use for your Career Connection and LinkedIn accounts.   • To help you prepare for the Internship Fair, Employer and Career Services Team is hosting a virtual Internship Fair Preparation Workshop to help you put your best foot forward. The workshop will be held on March 15th from 12:00pm-1:00pm. RSVP in Career Connection.
  • Another great way to prepare for the Internship Fair is to update your resume! Join our Career Counselors at their Effective Resume Writing Workshops to understand the purpose of a resume and write an effective resume. Choose from either their March 16th from 2-3pm or March 24th from 11am-12pm. RSVP to both of these in Career Connection.

Virtual Employer Lobbies

Virtual Employer Lobbies connect NOVA students and alumni with employers through group Zoom meetings for the purpose of networking and learning about career opportunities. Each employer in attendance will have their own Zoom breakout room, and students can self-select the room they want to join from the main lobby. Employers may provide information about career paths in their industry or organization or share specific openings for jobs or internships. Each Virtual Employer Lobby will cover a different career industry or type of Career Opportunity, so look through our upcoming Lobby’s to find your industry or opportunity of interest.

Career Counseling Workshop - Undecided? Not a label...an opportunity!

  • Virtual | February 2 from 10–11 a.m.
  • This workshop is for students who are interested in making a decision. It will feature a discussion on decision-making processes and will cover resources designed to assist students make career-related or other major decisions. Register in Career Connection.

Career Counseling Workshop - Job Search Blueprint: Getting Started

  • Virtual | February 15 from 2–3 p.m.
  • This workshop will explore the five basic steps to getting started with the job search process and provide useful resources to assist participants with establishing an individualized job search plan. Register in Career Connection.

Career Counseling Workshop - Exploring Resources to Discover: What can I do with this major?

  • Virtual | February 22 from 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
  • This workshop will provide students with the appropriate tools and resources to effectively explore majors and connect them to careers. Register in Career Connection.

  • Virtual | March 16 from 11 a.m. –12 p.m.
  • This workshop will provide tips and information to improve job seekers’ chances for being selected for interviews. Register in Career Connection.

  • Virtual | March 16 from 2–3 p.m.
  • This workshop will help students understand the primary purpose of a resume; you’ll then learn how to write an effective resume for your job search. Reference page and cover letter writing will also be discussed. Register in Career Connection.

  • This workshop will help students determine if their personality matches their career goals. It covers each Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) preference, the learning styles associated with each preference, and the MBTI and major choice. Register in Career Connection.
