Discover NOVA Open House

Start your NOVA journey at Discover NOVA, a hands-on, campuswide event where students can explore academic programs, meet advisors, tour campuses, and prepare for a successful first semester. Designed for prospective students, dual enrollment students planning to continue at NOVA after high school graduation, and their families, the event provides an inside look at the resources, support services, and opportunities available to help students begin college informed and ready for success.

What to expect at Discover NOVA 

At Discover NOVA, attendees will:

  • Learn about academic programs and career pathways.
  • Explore financial aid, scholarships and tuition payment resources. 
  • Tour NOVA campuses and facilities.
  • Receive information on transfer opportunities. 
  • Meet academic advisors and student services staff. 
  • Get help with student IDs, application steps and next actions.

Open House Scholarship Opportunities

The Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation and the Office of Dual Enrollment, Outreach and Recruitment are pleased to offer two $500 scholarship drawings to support students beginning their studies at NOVA this fall!

Students who attend the Open House will have a chance to be entered into one of the following:

  • $500 Dual Enrollment Scholarship Drawing – for current senior Dual Enrollment students planning to continue at NOVA in Fall 2026.
  • $500 Open House Scholarship Drawing – for any student attending who plans to begin studies at NOVA in Fall 2026.

Qualifications:
To be entered into the drawing, students must:

  • Have an active NOVA application
  • Register for the Open House event
  • Be present during the event

Scholarship recipients will be selected through a random drawing during the event. Scholarship funds must be applied toward Fall 2026 tuition, books, or supplies and may only be used for courses taken after high school graduation.

Parking

Parking is free on all NOVA campuses after 3:45 p.m., so attendees will not need a parking permit for Discover NOVA. For reference, all Student Permit/Hourly Pay Parking spaces are available.
