With NOVA’s Career Studies Certificate (CSC) in Welding Basic Techniques, you’ll gain fundamental skills for immediate employment in the welding trade. You’ll be prepared to become a welding apprentice or lab assistant. You can take NOVA’s welding courses on a part-time basis.
The Advanced Welding Career Studies Certificate prepares students for high-skill welding careers beyond entry-level production work. With hands-on instruction in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW, plus advanced pipe welding and shop fabrication, this program helps learners build the specialized expertise employers need. Graduates are ready for advanced opportunities in industrial manufacturing, custom fabrication, and structural construction, and can continue toward American Welding Society (AWS) certification.

Northern Virginia Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the welding certification.
