Bridge Programs in Computer Science/Information Technology and Engineering Technology are FREE summer programs for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in getting into these high-demand, high wage tech fields.
NOVA IET offers free 2-week summer bridge programs to help juniors and seniors get ready for college! During these programs, students will receive an introduction to one of three in-demand technology fields (Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering Technology), tour at regional employers, and meet NOVA faculty, students, and staff. Bridge students will gain critical skills and have the opportunity to receive college credit.
Who can apply? Graduating High School seniors/current juniors. The Bridge Program is intended for students who have little or no experience with these fields and would like to learn more.
Application is closed, and participants have been selected for Summer 2023.

Students will get a hands-on introduction to topics in both disciplines. Students will assemble a desktop computer, install an operating system. and configure a local network. Using the hardware setups they create, students will complete introductory exercises in cybersecurity, discuss contemporary topics in artificial intelligence (AI) and learn the principles of object-oriented programming. Industry professionals will visit the Bridge Program to share their backgrounds and experiences during their careers.
Eligible students at all programs will earn 1 college credit as part of participating.

NOVA Information Technology Program
NOVA Computer Science Program
Using NOVA's state-of-the-art equipment, students will receive hands-on instruction to in-demand engineering technology careers in this region. Students will learn about the data center and semiconductor manufacturing industries in Northern Virginia and will visit industry partners Stack Infrastructure and Micron Technology. Students will also have the opportunity to earn their OSHA 10 certification at no cost.
Eligible students at all programs will earn 1 college credit as part of participating.
