    College ESL

College ESL is an academic (credit) ESL program. We are part of an academic division on each campus.

NOVA ESL serves students with a variety of English language goals.

Get Ready for your Fall 2021 Courses

We will be holding some preparatory sessions (free of charge) to help you get ready for your fall English or math class. These sessions are free and are intended to help you be successful in your fall courses. Participation is optional and does not affect your enrollment in your fall courses. Visit the Ramp Up Workshops page to learn more.

Some of our students want access to American higher education, some want entry or advancement in the workforce and some want to improve their English language skills.

NOVA has two programs to help students improve their English language skills -- College ESL and the American Culture and Language Institute (ACLI). Students can enroll in the NOVA ESL program that meets their needs.

If you are an international student and need a student visa (F-1) to study at NOVA, please review the International Students Visa (F-1) Information.

Which NOVA ESL Program Is Right for You?

We consider your level of English, the amount of time you want to study, and your visa and residency status before we recommend the program that is best for you. Have questions? Please contact us for help from an ESL advisor.
