BLD 215 - OSHA 30 Construction Safety (2 CR.)
Course Description
Covers all topics included in the OSHA 30-hour course. Lecture 2 hours per week.
General Course Purpose
Covers construction safety content that allows student to earn the OSHA 30 certification.
Course Prerequisites/Corequisites
Prerequisite: OSHA 10 Certification or department approval
Course Objectives
Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 29 CFR 1926;
- Identify the Cause and types of accident and fatalities in hazardous areas of construction
- Design and implement prevention measures, such as abatement techniques, training and enforcement
- Measure cost of accident and apply post-accident plan
- Earn the OSHA 30 certification in construction.
