The NOVA Educational Foundation (NOVA Foundation) announced two new board members at its most recent board meeting. College Board Members Rosaelena O’Neil and Zuzana Steen will now join the Foundation Board as well. Both will fill the positions vacated by two-term board members Ellen Dyke and Tony Burchard. As NOVA Foundation board members, O’Neil and Steen will hold their positions for up to three years.
Founded in 1979, the NOVA Foundation supports Northern Virginia Community College’s goal of providing all students with a high-quality, life-changing education. By connecting donors to NOVA programs, the Foundation raises private funds, increases visibility and strengthens partnerships among the College, individual donors, businesses, and state and local communities. Through its donors, the NOVA Foundation funds more than 350 scholarships, emergency aid grants and a range of academic programs and student services throughout the College's six campuses and NOVA Online.

Rosaelena (Rosie) A. O’Neil : O’Neil is deputy director of the Landegger Program in International Business Diplomacy in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. In this role, she develops domestic and global partnerships and operationalizes complex multi-stakeholder initiatives. O’Neil is currently also the Chair of the Northern Virginia Community College Board and sits on the National Board of Community College Trustees.
Zuzana Steen: Steen is the academic and community relations director for Micron Technology, Inc., a world leader in memory and data storage solutions. She is responsible for fostering positive relationships and strategic partnerships with the community. Her extensive knowledge of educational institutions, industry and non-profits has led to her active participation and leadership in numerous educational and community organizations such as the College Board of the Northern Virginia Community College, Advisory Boards of the Prince William County Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Manassas City Public Schools CTE, Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program, Virginia Microelectronics Consortium and the Northern Virginia Career Works Board.
