Ten NOVA Students Named as Semifinalists for Prestigious 2021 Jack Kent Cooke Undergrad Transfer Scholarship

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is excited to announce that ten of our amazing students have been named as semifinalists for the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke “Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.” Only 5% of applicants nationwide are selected as semifinalists, and NOVA has the highest number of semifinalists in Virginia for this year! NOVA leads the nation’s community colleges in successive years of Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer scholars, with 23 winning finalists in the past 15 years.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation offers a competitive scholarship for community college students showing exceptional promise and demonstrated financial need to pursue a baccalaureate degree. Students in any discipline may apply; and the scholarship grants up to $40,000 per year for up to three years to complete their undergraduate degree. The award provides funding for tuition, room and board at the college of the scholar’s choice, required fees and books for the remainder (up to three years) of the scholar’s undergraduate study. Scholarship amounts vary depending upon the costs of the institution the scholar attends and any other grants or scholarships that the individual may receive.
