Contextualizing Anti-Asian Violence in the Age of COVID

April 9, 2021

On April 14th, four NOVA faculty members will discuss the rise of anti-Asian violence over the course of the pandemic. Heightened violence that has targeted diverse and minority populations has increasingly continued to occur.  For those in the Asian American community this is sadly not the first time these types of issues have impacted them or our country.

In the interest of furthering Inclusive Excellence, we invite faculty, staff, students, and members of the community to attend this important educational panel to learn more about the pain and history of discrimination against Asian Americans as well as how we can grow as one community to respond to moments of injustice.

Presenters:

  • Elisabeth Chan Associate Professor, ESL
  • Sue Jean Cho Professor, History
  • John Min Professor, Economics
  • Alexander Purugganan Assistant Professor, English
