On April 20, the NOVA Educational Foundation launched its second annual ‘Giving Day,’ a 24-hour virtual fundraiser in support of NOVA student achievement. Over $53,000 was raised to support student success and meet emerging needs of the college.
“The outpouring of support on Giving Day shows the passion our NOVA community has for our students,” said Kelly Persons, executive director of the NOVA Foundation. “Thank you to everyone who made this annual event such a success.”
NOVA continues to support its diverse student body by providing critical wrap-around services through the NOVA Foundation. The Foundation hosted campus “pop-up” events to raise awareness of the coming giving day and entire NOVA community was invited to participate.
Approximately 140 donors supported this important campaign. The Foundation is grateful for the NOVA community champions who have continually supported our students. Over the years, their generosity has helped to ensure that an exceptional education and skills training will continue to be accessible to all, transforming the lives of our students, their families and the region.

NOVA Giving Day is one of many examples of how community support extends beyond the physical boundaries of the College. These critical contributions leverage NOVA in a way that propels the community, region and state forward by providing training for the workforce so Northern Virginia remains economically competitive in a changing global marketplace and our graduates are prepared to meet the most critical workforce needs, not just today but in the future.
