Information Requests
Every effort will be made to fulfill information requests within five (5) business days.

  • Background Checks. Background investigators seeking a records check on an individual must present their credentials and provide a legible copy of the release information form. The Records Office will retain a copy of the release form but will not provide copies of the actual records. Information released will be the date of an incident, the type of contact, and disposition, if available. Investigators may be required to provide additional information.
  • Crash Reports. All requests should be made to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
  • Incident-Based Reports (IBR). All requests for IBRs must be made to the Records Support Division Lieutenant or designee. Copies of IBRs are only available to law enforcement agencies or by court subpoena. If an individual was involved in an incident and needs verification, an incident verification form, including the officer’s name, case number and date, will be provided upon presentation of a photo ID.
  • Lost or Damaged Property. The Records Office will release a letter identifying the items and their value for insurance purposes.
