Dr. Richmond Hill has been named provost of Northern Virginia Community College’s (NOVA) Woodbridge Campus. Hill has served as interim provost since June 2022 and brings a wealth of education and counseling experience to the role.

Three NOVA Students Awarded Prestigious Community College Transfer Scholarship

Three Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) students are among the 100 recipients of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s prestigious Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. This highly competitive national scholarship will provide three NOVA Nighthawks – Anastasia Duenas, Kerri Langhorne and Meelod Waheed – with up to $55,000 a year to complete their bachelor’s degree.

NOVA Foundation to Hold First Annual Giving Day to Help Every Student Succeed

The NOVA Educational Foundation – the philanthropic arm of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) – will hold its first annual Giving Day event on Thursday, April 21. This inaugural 24-hour virtual fundraiser will raise funds in support of NOVA student achievement, which will be awarded as scholarships and grants that can help students pay for books, meals and more.

Green Festival to be Held Virtually

Northern Virginia Community College will host its 11th annual Green Festival virtually across two days on April 19 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The theme for this year's event is "The Greening of NoVA – What's happening in the Northern Virginia region?" This annual event increases community awareness of regional, national and global environmental issues by providing ways that individuals can help preserve the environment. Faculty, staff, students and local community members are all welcome.

NOVA Wins $240,000 Innovation Grant in Strada Education Network’s Beyond Completion Challenge

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) has received a $240,000 innovation grant in the initial phase of Strada Education Network’s $10 million Beyond Completion Challenge. The challenge is aimed at helping higher education institutions identify new and expand existing solutions that will improve career and life opportunities for more students of color, first-generation students, those who struggle to afford education, working students and non-traditional adult learners.
