The ‘Elevate’ Coalition of Workforce Partnerships Announces Manassas Park as Additional Partner

Elevate Building Businesses and Careers

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) in partnership with City of Manassas, Prince William County, Virginia Career Works and the SkillSource Group for the Elevate workforce program is excited to announce Manassas Park as a new partner.  Elevate is a strategic partnership intent on utilizing $1,500,000 in funding from the CARES Act to upskill community members in the City of Manassas, Prince William County and now Manassas Park.

“The City of Manassas Park is proud to join the Elevate program in partnership with Prince William County, the City of Manassas, Virginia Career Works, the SkillSource Group, and Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) in creating a completely regional approach to combat the economic effects of COVID-19.  The City is confident this program will successfully help City residents that are searching for new and effective ways to transition and advance their careers during these uncertain times”, said Chris Himes, Assistant to City Manager at the City of Manassas Park.

This partnership will bring together the efforts of SkillSource, the City of Manassas, Prince William County, Manassas Park and NOVA’s workforce training programs to provide jobseeker and employer services that are focused on the needs of individuals. Program participants will also have access to interview preparation and job placement assistance after the completion of their training at NOVA. This wraparound workforce program that will offer a grant cycle from September to December (or until funds are exhausted) will enhance the opportunities for participant success with support from start to finish.
