Event Description
Fall Symphony Orchestra Concert on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 8 p.m. in the Richard J. Ernst Theater on our Annandale campus.

The concert program includes selections from Aaron Copland's Rodeo, an overture by Jacques Offenbach featuring the Parisian dance "The Can-can", a medley from Duke Ellington, and a trumpet concerto with soloist John Wright, an adjunct faculty member and retired member of "The President's Own" The United States Marine Corps Band. The feature work is Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 9, known as "the Great C Major".

In the NOVA-Annandale Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Christopher Johnston, NOVA students perform side-by-side with community members, several of whom are music teachers in Fairfax County.

There is a free reception for everyone after the concert. Tickets available at the door are $10 for NOVA faculty.
