NOVA to Celebrate Nighthawks’ Success at Spring Commencement Ceremony on May 15

Fairfax, Va. – On Sunday, May 15, Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) will hold its 56th commencement ceremony to recognize our students’ hard work and achievement. Ms. Arfa Syed, an alumna who personifies the commencement theme “Go Boldly” will serve as NOVA’s commencement speaker.

“My dream to obtain higher education wouldn’t have been possible without NOVA as my launchpad,” said Syed, who leads growth and strategy for the award-winning cybersecurity firm Sure Secure Solutions. “In fact, I owe much of my success to embracing the ‘Boldly NOVA’ brand, which embodies overcoming substantial barriers and embracing non-traditional backgrounds to carve out a path for success. I am thrilled to be this year’s commencement speaker and congratulate my fellow Nighthawks on their graduation as they emerge into an exciting new chapter of their life.”
