Reported Offense:
On Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 7:30 A.M., NOVA police was notified of a burglary on the first floor of the CF building.

Suspect’s Description:
Male, approximately six feet tall with short hair, beard, green t-shirt with a multi-colored bird with wings spread on the front, faded blue jeans, and brown shoes.

Reported Offense:
On Wednesday, September 04, 2019, at approximately 2:32 pm, NOVA PD was notified of a reported sexual battery on the NOVA Annandale Campus. The victim stated she was touched inappropriately by a male without her consent. Suspect was last seen leaving the  CG building third floor library in an unknown direction.

Suspect’s Description:
The suspect is described by the victim as a black male approximately 6’1”, skinny build, about mid 20’s, red t-shirt, jeans, and wearing braces.

Reported Offense:
On Thursday June 27, 2019, at approximately 2:45pm,  NOVA PD was notified of a reported sexual battery on the NOVA Woodbridge Campus. The victim stated she was touched inappropriately by a male without her consent. He  then left the WAS third floor office area and was last seen in the WAS lobby.

Suspect’s Description:
The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern short male, in 50’s to 60’s, Wearing a blue/grey short sleeve shirt tan pants and sandals.  Suspect is balding with a black moustache.

Suspect’s Description:

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 6’0” tall, medium building, approximately 30 years old, wearing dark blue pants, red button up t-shirt, and a dark blue jacket.

On Tuesday December 4, 2018 at approximately 8:00 pm at the Annandale campus, Police were notified of an assault and battery on campus.  The suspect was known to the victim. On Wednesday December 5, 2018 Fairfax county Magistrate issued arrest warrants for the suspect to include robbery, destruction of property and assault and battery.    

Suspect’s Description:

White male approximately 5’10”, 160 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 2:30 p.m., NVCC Police were notified of a sexual assault that occurred at 12:30 p.m. in the Bisdorf Building at the Alexandria campus. The incident occurred when a student inappropriately touched another student without consent. 

Suspect’s Description:

Black male approximately in his mid 30's. 6 foot 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 285 lbs. and heavy set build. No clothing description at this time.

On Thursday, October 11, 2018, at approximately 3:00 p.m.,  NOVA PD was notified of a reported sexual assault on the NOVA Loudoun Campus.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office contacted NOVA Police and are investigating the event.

The victim and suspect both non students, were visiting the Loudoun campus and are known to each other. The suspect touched the victim inappropriately.

Suspect’s Description:

There is no description of the suspect at this time.

Reported Offense:
On Wednesday, November 15 2017, at approximately 5 p.m.,  NOVA PD was notified of a reported sexual battery on the NOVA Woodbridge Campus.   

The victim stated she was touched inappropriately by an  unknown person. There were two subsequent reports of similar incidents at 7pm and 7:30pm.

Suspect’s Description:

The suspect in each case is described as a black male approximately 5’8”, thin build, early twenties wearing baggy dark clothing.

On Thursday, September 28, at approximately 11:30 a.m., NOVA PD was notified of a reported sexual assault on the NOVA Annandale Campus that occurred on Tuesday, September 26.  

The victim stated she was touched inappropriately by an acquaintance while in the cafeteria in the CF building on the Annandale Campus. 

Suspect’s Description:

The suspect, who is an acquaintance of the victim, is described as a Hispanic male, medium build. On that day, he was wearing a wearing a buttoned up shirt, tan pants.

The victim stated she was touched inappropriately by an acquaintance in front of the CG building plaza near the ping pong tables at the Annandale Campus.

Suspect’s Description:
The suspect, who is known to the victim, is described as a black male approximately 5’10” tall wearing dark pants and a polo shirt.

There is no imminent danger to the campus community.

On Monday, March 27, 2017, at approximately 4:33 p.m., NOVA PD was notified of a strong arm robbery at the Alexandria Campus.

The suspect took the phone from the victim which resulted in a physical altercation and destruction of the phone.

Off-Campus Armed Robbery Manassas Campus

Reported Offense:
On Wednesday February 01, 2017, at approximately 8:50 p.m., NOVA PD was notified of a reported Armed Robbery near the NOVA Manassas Campus.

The victim stated the suspect approached them brandishing a black handgun in the parking lot of the famous footwear store on Bulloch Drive near the Manassas Campus. The suspect was last seen on foot near the woodline on Battleview Drive near the Manassas campus.

Suspect’s Description:
The suspect is described as a white male, 6' tall, wearing a green beanie, grey shirt, blue jeans and armed with a black handgun.

The victim stated she was touched inappropriately by an acquaintance while in the gazebo behind the MH building on the Manassas Campus.

The suspect, who is known to the victim, is described as a white male approximately 6’3” tall wearing a black hoodie, pink shirt and blue jeans.

On Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at approximately 7:00 p.m.,   NOVA PD was notified of a reported Fondling on the NOVA Loudoun Campus.  

The victim stated she was exiting the library in the LC building when the suspect walked past her and grabbed her buttock. The suspect was last seen walking out of the LC building in an unknown direction.  

Suspect’s Description:
The suspect in this case is described as a black male approximately 18 years of age 6' tall wearing red converse sneakers with a dark fleece top and tan pants with a red baseball cap in his left rear pocket.

Update: May 20, 2016, 4:30 p.m.

The investigation in this case is ongoing and information is continuing to be brought forward.

  • The incident reported on May 5 involved an adjunct faculty member who taught at the Manassas Campus.
  • As soon as the NOVA Police Department was informed of the incident, they launched an investigation and the investigation is continuing.
  • The adjunct faculty member was arrested May 5, and was charged with sexual assault. The adjunct faculty's contract has since been terminated by NOVA.
  • In addition, he has been ordered to not enter any NOVA campus or property.

When NOVA is notified of a crime, the College issues a Timely Warning to the entire college community. This is to comply with the Clery Act and to provide information that may help in avoiding a similar crime or provide information to solve the crime(s). The timely warning is sent to all faculty, staff and students via email, and was issued via email on May 5.

On May 5, 2016, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the NOVA PD was notified of a reported sexual assault on the NOVA Manassas Campus.

The victim had arrived at the MH Building on Tuesday, May 3, to meet with a known male subject. During the course of that meeting the victim reported having been touched inappropriately. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect committed several sexual assaults between March of 2016 and Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

On February 4, 2016, at approximately 8:57 p.m., NOVA PD was notified of a reported sex offense on the NOVA Loudoun Campus.  

The victim was walking to her vehicle in the B4 parking lot when she was approached from behind by an unknown subject who touched her inappropriately. The subject started laughing and ran off in an unknown direction. NOVA police are patrolling the area. We will update the community as additional details are made available.

On February 2, 2016, the NOVA College Police Department issued a timely warning for a Simple Robbery, which was reported as having occurred on the Alexandria Campus.

At this time, the NOVA College Police Department has reclassified this incident as “Unfounded,” which means, after a full and thorough investigation, the incident was not based on fact or sound evidence and was found to be groundless or baseless. In addition, warrants were obtained for violations of Virginia Statute 18.2-461, relative to knowingly giving a false report as to the commission of a crime to a law enforcement official with the intent to mislead.

February 1, 2016, at 7:45 p.m.

Reported Offense:
On February 2, 2016, at or about 1:21 a.m., NOVA PD was notified by Alexandria City Police Department that they were investigating a robbery under Case # 01-16-107927 in which the victim  reported that on Feb. 1, at 7:45 p.m., he was robbed while on the NOVA Alexandria Campus.  

The victim had previously agreed to sell personal items via a Facebook post and arranged to meet an unknown individual at the Alexandria campus to complete the sale. The victim while waiting was pushed to the ground from behind and forced to the sidewalk where he was placed in a headlock. The victim at this time heard voices of three unknown males demanding his money as they searched his pockets . At this time another vehicle drove by, and the suspects fled. The victim was able to relay the suspect descriptions below. Report details are sketchy and are currently being researched. We will update the community as additional details are made available.

The NOVA Police Department received information that an individual posted on a public local blog an anonymous threat where the person described a shooting that would take place at NOVA’s Annandale Campus.

The NOVA Police take this and all threats seriously and have been working with local law enforcement. Initial investigation has shown that the post was related to an ongoing harassment situation. The suspect has been identified and there is NO imminent threat. However, out of an abundance of caution, the campus community is being informed.

The suspect assaulted the victim and took her cell phone after a dispute that occurred inside a vehicle in the B-2 parking lot on NOVA’s Annandale Campus. The victim exited the vehicle and the suspect drove off. The suspect is known to the victim. Police are continuing to investigate and are interviewing both parties. On-Campus Burglary at Woodbridge Construction Site

Date & Time of Occurrence:
From February 17, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. through February 18, 2015, at 5:00 a.m.

Location:
Occurred at the Woodbridge Campus within a construction Conex container located on the new building work site.

Reported Offense:
Unknown suspects cut locks to the construction gate entrances and Conex Containers to obtain access and steal large amounts of copper and various other construction material and items. Items were last seen secured on Feb. 17, at 3:30 p.m. and were discovered missing on Feb. 18, at 5:00 a.m. Similar thefts have occurred at this location in December and January.
