Withdraw From a Course

Important: Before a student withdrawals from a class, you are required to speak with a student services advisor. Withdrawing from a class has financial and academic implications.

You use the same process to withdraw from a course as you do to drop a course.

It's important to remember that the last date you may drop a course and receive a refund is indicated on the "Important Dates" page in the Schedule of Classes or in the College Calendar at http://www.nvcc.edu/calendars. No refunds will be made after the specified dates. If you drop a course during the refund period, the course will be eliminated from your schedule, so no grade will be posted.

You may withdraw from a course and receive a W grade when you drop a course between the last date for refunds and within the first 60% of a session. The specific dates are listed in the "Important Dates" page in the Schedule of Classes or in the College Calendar at http://www.nvcc.edu/calendars. When you drop a course during this time period, you will receive a grade of W.

IMPORTANT: You may not use NOVAConnect to withdraw from a course after the first 60% of the session since that action would result in you automatically receiving a grade of F.
