Georgetown Preferred Consideration Program

Georgetown Preferred Consideration Program for Community Colleges

This program is by invitation only. Students who qualify to apply will be contacted via email in late February/early March.

Georgetown University sponsors an exciting opportunity, the Preferred Consideration Program for Community Colleges, for selected outstanding NOVA students who will apply for transfer admission to Georgetown. NOVA's president will recommend up to three strong candidates who hope to continue their studies at Georgetown University.

Students accepted to this special transfer admission opportunity meet the following criteria:

  1. Minimum college GPA of 3.8, with a high school record similar to that of students who attend Georgetown.
  2. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and may not have previously earned a bachelor's degree.
  3. Have completed 45 credits at NOVA.

Dual enrollment students do not qualify for this program.

All deadlines and requirements will be communicated to qualifying students, but students must have also applied to Georgetown to be considered.

Questions can be directed to Abbey Jones, Associate Director for Specialty Programs, at ajones@nvcc.edu.
