Schedule of classes --
NOVA’s financial aid programs can make your college education more affordable than you thought. Our need-based programs provide scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study opportunities that are sponsored by the federal and state governments. NOVA international students are not eligible for need-based financial aid, but may qualify for some scholarships and non-need-based student loans.
In order to receive a financial aid offer in time to cover your tuition and fees by the payment deadline for the upcoming Fall Semester, you must complete the 2013–2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit all required documents no later than May 1, 2013. After May 1, awards will continue to be made on a first-come/first-served basis.
Visit the financial aid website for complete information on aid opportunities, deadlines, forms, and links.
Using Approved Financial Aid to Buy or Rent Textbooks
If you have received a financial aid award large enough to cover tuition, fees, and books, you may use it to purchase or rent books from campus bookstores for the two-week period prior to the start of classes up through the census date for the 16-week term. Students with pending financial aid can purchase books for the second 8-week term for the two-week period prior to the start of second 8-week classes up through the census date for the second 8-week term. For more information and specific dates, visit the online financial aid support center and link to “Purchasing Books.”
Failure to Attend
If you do not attend at least one class meeting or participate in a distance learning class by the last day to drop with a tuition refund (census date), your class registration will be administratively deleted. This means your financial aid must be recalculated based on your revised enrollment status, and the award will likely change.
If you have already received more funds than can be justified based on a revised status, you will be required to repay the overpayment. You will not be eligible to re-enroll until the debt has been repaid. Debts greater than $500 will prohibit enrollment at any Virginia Community College System institution.
