Schedule of classes -- Spring 2009
Spring Registration for Continuing Students:
Priority Registration by Assigned Day
In an effort to give continuing students first priority, registration will now be conducted by assigned day. Starting November 1, you can find out which day you can begin registration by logging into NOVAConnect (www.nvcc.edu/NOVAConnect) and looking under the heading “Navigation to Enrollment.” Your registration period begins at 12:01 a.m. on your assigned day and continues until the last day to add classes. You cannot change the day you are scheduled to begin.
November 11-14 Priority registration by assigned day for continuing students
November 17
Open registration for all students
The Importance of Attending Classes
When you register for a class at NOVA, you are making a commitment to engage fully in the learning process by attending the class regularly, either in person or online. Since the Commonwealth of Virginia contributes a significant portion of the cost of your education as a NOVA student, and since you are taking a seat in class that might have gone to another student, you must establish your attendance or participation early in the semester.
If you do not attend at least one class meeting or participate in a distance learning class by the Last Day to Drop with a Tuition Refund (also known as the Census Date*), your class registration will be administratively deleted.
This means:
- there will be no record of the class or any letter grade on your transcript;
- the course credits will be deducted from your course load;
- a reduction in credits may affect your student status -- full-time or part-time;
- you will not receive a tuition refund.
