          lower intensity and less impact
          exercise.  Lecture emphasizes
          weight management and effects of
          aging.

PED 183  OUTDOOR ADVENTURES I             2cr

          Backpacking.  Class will meet on
          the following dates:
          Mar. 20 - Lecture, 9 AM - 12 noon
          Mar. 27 - Lecture, 9 AM - 12 noon
          Apr. 3  - Day hike
          Apr, 17-18 - Overnight backpacking
          Aor, 24-25 - Overnight backpacking
          Students must be able to handle the
          physical rigors of backpacking.
          Smoking will not be permitted during
          trips.  Students must supply their
          own transportation.  Trip dates
          dependent on weather conditions.

PED 199  SUPERVISED STUDY                 1cr 
         INTERMEDIATE TENNIS

          prerequisite: PED 123 or beginner
          tennis.  Emphasis on improving
          ability to direct ball.  Three ways
          of hitting ground strokes and three
          serves, with emphasis on spin,
          direction and pace, will be taught.
          Students must supply one new can of
          tennis balls.


SIX WEEK
PED 133  GOLF I                           1cr

          The first six sessions will be on
          campus.  Some sessions will be at a
          local driving range or golf course.
          There will be additional costs for
          greens fees, club rental and driving
          range fees.  Students responsible
          for own transportation to off-campus
          sites.
