    Veteran goes from incarceration to classroom and inspires all who meet him

    David Hudgens (left) is from a rough background. In prison, he determined he would turn his life around. At NOVA he has earned his A.S. in Business Administration and is within a few courses of completing an A.S. in Math. He is now a student in NOVA’s innovative BIS program, a partnership with University of Virginia.

NOVA-Loudoun exhibition features abstracts by Allison Long Hardy

“Daily Drawings” by Allison Long Hardy will be on display in Waddell Gallery at the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College from Feb. 15 to March 18. Mosaic Harmony offers Black History Month performance at NOVA-Annandale

The Northern Virginia Community College Annandale Campus Liberal Arts Division will present a Black History Month Celebration performance by Mosaic Harmony, a multicultural and interfaith choir. Led by Reverend David K. North of Holy Redeemer Metropolitan Church in College Park, Maryland, the choir will perform from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 at the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center.

342 preschoolers receive $61,000 worth of free dental care through Give Kids A Smile at NOVA’s Medical Campus

The Medical Education Campus (MEC) of Northern Virginia Community College hosted the 2016 Give Kids A Smile event (GKAS) on Fri., Feb. 5. The event, sponsored by the Northern Virginia Dental Society, provided free dental services to 342 preschoolers from the Arlington County Head Start Program. The children were seen by 34 volunteer dentists, 6 volunteer hygienists, 43 dental assistants, 24 second-year dental hygiene students and 13 dental assisting students enrolled in the program at the MEC.
