VCCS has resolved all of the system issues that affected services after this morning’s data center power outage. All VCCS applications, including library and mainframe, are currently available to users.

MAC Snow Leopard

The college will not be upgrading to the new MAC Snow Leopard operating system until there is a compatible version of Enterprise Symantec Anti-Virus for it. Symantec is currently working on an edition for Snow Leopard, but is has not yet been made available to VCCS.

Email Phishing Scam: Request for Money

Facebook Phishing Scam:

Click here for an example of a phishing attempt that appears to come from Facebook that is being sent to NVCC email addresses. It instructs users to click on an attached document to get their new ‘Facebook’ passwords. Never click on, download or install any links included in a suspicious email.

Phishing Scam: Account Deactivation

An email phishing scam that is currently targeting NVCC email addresses. It asks users to reply with their user name, password, and webmail login. This email includes a threat that your account will be deactivated if you don't comply, and states the request is due to an update to the website. This is another phishing attempt. Please do not respond to this request.
