Purpose: This specialization provides technical knowledge and skills in application design and software development for persons seeking employment as programmers or programmer/analysts.

* Graduation requirements are certified by a faculty advisor at a campus offering this major.

Total credits for the A.A.S. Degree in Information Systems Technology with a Specialization in Software Development = 66.

IT courses used for this program may not be more than 10 years old, unless approved by division dean.

4 The PED requirement may be met by one of the following options:  PED 116, 2 cr.; PED 116, 1 cr. plus a PED activities course, 1 cr.; or PED 116, 1 cr. plus RPK 205, 216, or 225.  PED 116 is offered as both a 1-credit and a 2-credit course.

5 Choose ITP 112, 120, 130, 132, 134, or 136.

6 The social science elective may be selected from the economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, or sociology (includes anthropology) courses listed on pages 40-41.

7 Humanities/fine arts elective may be chosen from list on page 40.

8 Choose ITP 212, 220, 230, 232, 234, or 236 (must be the same programming language chosen for ITP Programming Sequence I).

9 IT elective may be selected from any ITD, ITE, ITN, or ITP course.
