INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY

Microcomputer Specialization AL, AN, LO, MA, WO, ELI*

Purpose: This specialization provides knowledge and skills in microcomputer hardware and software and the application of these skills in an information center environment for persons seeking employment as a microcomputer support specialist.

* Graduation requirements are certified by a faculty advisor at a campus offering this major.

Total credits for the A.A.S. Degree in Information Systems Technology with a Specialization in Microcomputer = 67.

IT courses used for this program may not be more than 10 years old, unless approved by division dean.

4 The PED requirement may be met by one of the following options:  PED 116, 2 cr.; PED 116, 1 cr. plus a PED activities course, 1 cr.; or PED 116, 1 cr. plus RPK 205, 216, or 225.  PED 116 is offered as both a 1-credit and a 2-credit course.

5 The social science elective may be selected from the economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, or sociology (includes anthropology) courses listed on pages 40-41.

6 Humanities/fine arts elective may be chosen from list on page 40.

7 IT elective may be selected from any ITD, ITE, ITN or ITP course.
