About The Program

The General Studies, Health Sciences Specialization AS degree program provides students with an academic foundation that allows them to continue their education by applying to competitive programs at the Medical Education Campus or preparing them for entry to various allied health or health sciences baccalaureate programs. Students should consult an academic advisor in selecting electives for this curriculum.

Program Degrees and Certificates

Starting in Fall of 2023, the General Studies, Health Sciences Specialization AS degree program will be renamed Health Sciences, AS degree. The degree curricular requirements will remain the same.

    Through this curriculum, students acquire the general education background to prepare them to continue their education at NOVA or pursue a competitive program at the Medical Education Campus or preparing them for entry to a variety of allied health or health sciences baccalaureate programs.
