Theatre Career Studies Certificate

Pursue your ambition for acting, directing, technical theatre or theatre scholarship with NOVA’s theatre career studies certificate (CSC). You’ll be prepared for community acting, further study in theatre or related disciplines and for jobs as an actor, stage director, playwright, arts administrator, director, dancer or costume designer. You’ll also learn skills you can use in other careers, such as screenwriting, sound design, and education.

Northern Virginia Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award a certificate in liberal arts with a theatre specialization.

THEATRE PROGRAM CAREER OUTCOMES

By studying theatre at NOVA, you’ll develop the creative, technical and critical thinking skills you need to perform in community, educational or professional theatre. You’ll also be ready to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a four-year institution or to work as an actor or as a stage manager, playwright, director or producer.
