This curriculum is designed for individuals who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree program in the Visual Arts with a major in cinema, film or media production.
This curriculum is designed for individuals who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree program in the Visual Arts with a major in cinema, film, or media production.
Recommended Preparation: Satisfactory completion of the following high school units or equivalent: 4 units of English; 2 units of mathematics (algebra and geometry); 1 unit of laboratory science; and 1 unit of social studies.
Since four-year colleges can vary in their course and GPA requirements for the business major, please consult your Cinema, AFA Academic Advisor regarding specific requirements and course selection.
Northern Virginia Community College accepts industry-standard certifications, credentials and/or professional courses for credit. Broadly, licenses, credentials and/or certifications must be current and valid for consideration. For more information regarding the status of the certification and its eligibility for credit, please see an advisor or faculty members in the discipline area that awards CPL credit.
Cinema majors may study topics like the contemporary film industry, directing cameras, and screenwriting.
