          attendance.  Student must have
          Internet access and basic computer
          competency.  Students registered for
          this class need to access the web

          Students who have not submitted at
          least one assignment by the third
          week of class will be withdrawn from
          the course.

          Okinawan Style Karate.  The first
          class session will be on campus in
          room 207.  Other sessions at
          Niagara Shobukan Martial Arts
          Center, Woodbridge.  Student fee

          membership to Fitness Equation in
          Dale City is required.
          A fee of $30 is to be paid to the
          proprietor.  First class meeting is
          on campus.

PED 116  LIFETIME FITNESS AND WELLNESS    1cr

          For section 40W, this section is
          recommended for, but not limited to,
          students of 40+ age and overweight
          students who need lower intensity and
          less impact exercise.  Lecture
          emphasizes weight management and
          effects of aging.

          For sections 41W and 42W, these
          two-credit sections will meet both
          PED 116 and elective requirements.

PED 133  GOLF I                           1cr

          For section 40W, the first 6
          sessions will be on campus.  Some
          sessions will be at a local driving
          range or golf course.  There will
          be additional costs for greens fees,
          club rental and driving range fees.
          Students responsible for own
          transportation to off-campus sites.

PED 183  OUTDOOR ADVENTURES I             2cr

          Backpacking.  Class will meet on
          the following dates:
          May 18 - Lecture, 9 AM - 12 noon
          May 25 - Lecture, 9 AM - 12 noon
          June  1 - Day hike
          June 8-9   - Overnight backpacking
          June 22-23 - Overnight backpacking
          Students must be able to handle the
          physical rigors of backpacking.
          Students must supply own
          transportation.  Trip dates
          dependent on weather.
