NOVA Recognized in DoE Report on Increasing Diversity in Higher Ed.
White House Domestic Policy Council Director Neera Tanden, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and college and university leaders met Thursday, September 28th for an event highlighting the release of the Department of Education’s report, “Strategies for Increasing Diversity and Opportunity in Higher Education.” The report bolsters the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to advancing diversity and opportunity in higher education. NOVA was the only community college represented in this important discussion.

MEET THE GRADS: 2024 Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship Finalist Catherine Ercilla
Catherine Ercilla graduated from NOVA as NOVA SEAL Award winner and a recipient Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. Recipients of this prestigious scholarship are awarded up to $55,000 for two or three years to complete their bachelor’s degree.
Meet Jane Martin, Graduate of NOVA’s Inaugural Nursing Class
Northern Virginia Community College’s Nursing program dates back to 1966. Jane McLaughlin, who would later marry and become Jane Martin, was in the College’s inaugural Nursing class and graduated cum laude with an Associate of Applied Science in nursing on June 15, 1968.
