Important Information

In accordance with CDC guidelines regarding social distancing all NOVA’s Tutoring Centers will be offering remote tutoring services only, beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

Option 1

NOVA’s tutoring centers at all six campuses are offering free online tutor sessions.

To request an appointment, email: tutoring@nvcc.edu

Tutors from your home campus are ready to assist you with the great tutoring sessions that you are used to.

Option 2

Tutor.com is a free online tutoring service available to all NOVA students, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

To access Tutor.com:

  1. Go to one of your classes in Canvas
  2. Look at the menu on the left hand side of the page
  3. Click on "Tutor.com: 24/7 Online Tutoring"

NOVA Tutoring Centers

If you need help with a specific class, visit one of NOVA’s tutoring centers. All NOVA campuses provide tutoring services absolutely free to any current NOVA student. Tutoring services help many students succeed in the classroom. Tutoring is not a remedial service, but it plays a key role in academic success.

The Academic Success Center (ASC) at NOVA's Alexandria Campus takes great pride in helping our students enhance their learning at all levels. ASC promotes both fundamental literacy and mastery of skills in most subjects. We also offer resources, workshops and individual plans for improving academic skills and achieving academic success.

ASC provides free peer tutoring services to all NOVA students. Tutoring services are generally available for, but not limited to Math, Accounting, Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Sciences, World Languages, Psychology, Sociology, History and Music.

Students can expect individualized assistance from our exceptional tutors.

We at the Loudoun Writing Center hope that you and your family are experiencing health and peace during this uncertain time.

As the Spring 2020 semester continues, please know that we would be happy to work with you online! While we cannot provide in-person, face-to-face tutoring right now, we would very much like to assist you via online-tutoring.

Each weekday, we will have a number of tutoring-sessions available via Zoom-meeting (with screen-share and chat) and a number of tutoring-sessions available via email-tutoring. You may request either of these services by clicking the APPOINTMENT REQUEST link below.
