Mary Ratcliff - Fab Lab Coordinator

Mary is an artist and educator specializing in sculpture, digital design, and community art. She earned her BFA in Sculpture with a minor in Professional Education at the University of North Florida and an MFA in Sculpture from Louisiana State University in 2021. Upon graduation she taught as adjunct faculty and soon after became the Interim Fabrication Lab Manager for the LSU College of Art and Design. Over the past several years Mary has also worked intermittently as a freelance artist including positions as a mold maker for Swaybox Studios, a New Orleans based film and television production studio and most recently as the junior CAD designer for MGA Sculpture Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Mary’s love for making and engaging with the community has resulted in a multitude of large-scale public sculptures and interactive art installations. Interested in a variety of materials, she creates artworks through many processes, including metal fabrication, mold making and casting, foam and fiberglass fabrication, along with implementing soft materials like fabrics or yarns. When Mary isn’t making sparks in a metal shop, you may find her sitting at a sewing machine, hosting a crochet circle, or repurposing her neighbors recycling
